In June 2012, the Recovery Community Leadership Symposium brought together leaders of recovery community organizations (RCOs) and recovery programs within host organizations in Providence, Rhode Island, to engage in a two-day national dialogue related to balancing self-care with leadership positions. On behalf of SAMHSA, I would like to thank each of you for participating in this important event. The guidance you provided will benefit other current and emerging RCO leaders.
Please find attached to this email the Recovery Community Leadership Symposium Meeting Summary Report. The meeting summary recounts the events that took place throughout the symposium, and documents strategies and tips that attendees proposed to address a variety of issues and challenges that recovery community leaders experience.
We are currently working to make the meeting summary available through the Partners for Recovery website (http://partnersforrecovery.
samhsa.gov/). However, in the meantime, please feel free to share the report with other RCO leaders and members of the recovery community.
